Quit job...check!

I officially quit my job yesterday.

I told my boss that the house sold last Friday, but we were still working on the dates for the move (and still are....).  He didn't want staff to know until I put the official resignation in writing.  I get that.

But the days were marching on, and people needed to be told.  So, I typed up a short letter, and with very little fanfare, I quit my job.  Boss didn't even look up from what he was doing.

On paper, my last day is November 29, which is a Sunday.  Our office is closed for Thanksgiving, and Black Friday, but I will be working some over the weekend.  I am trying to have everything done by close of business on Wednesday, November 25, but I will have 4 days that I can still access the office to do what I need to do.  I will either lock the door and slide my keys under the door....or I will drop them off at the Clinical Supervisor's house, which is 10 min from the office.

My boss is basically going to encourage everyone to pile on the work, but I said anything I receive after Monday, the 23rd is not guaranteed to be done.  I was not about to have 25 people turn in 25 projects at 4pm on Wednesday because I said I could work some over the holiday weekend.  He was annoyed, but I said I was building in those few days to FINISH what I had, not start new stuff.

The staff will be told today.  I asked to be able to tell a few people myself before the big email goes out, so I talked to a few people yesterday afternoon.  I am sure my day will be filled answering questions.
