Sunday Night Chit Chat - May 27, 2012

Another Sunday Night with our Chit Chat hostess with the mostest....Carla!

Thought I would show you the slow starts to my front yard garden.  When everything is really blooming, I will share more.  My Peonies are budded, but as you can see, the rest of the garden is still small.  And I hope to have some veggie garden pics to share too.

Purchased from the High School Vo-Ag program

This is the bed where 4 periennals died.  I can't wait for this to fill in.
See my GIANT Hosta in the back!

On to the chit chat....

Reading? I am still reading "Nice Wives Finish First" by Patricia Anne Phillips. I am about half way through.  It is ok.  Nothing great.  That may be why I am only half way through.

Watching?  Not sure tonight.  I am not really in a TV watching mood.

Listening to? Sassy is watching Planet 51 on Cartoon Network.  Bossy is playing Angry Birds (while wearing his Angry Birds PJs).  And there is a dog barking that will not STOP.

Cooking/Baking? Tonight was chicken enchiladas with green chile sauce.  Yum.

Happy you accomplished this week?  Oh my...this weekend was errand after errand after errand.  I think I got them all done for the moment, and that tomorrow I won't have to go far.  I can't even list total, we went to 10 different stores...and one store we went to 3 separate times!

Looking forward to next week?  Really getting Bossy's room going!  It is almost emptied.  Ceiling and border paper is down.  I bought the wall and trim paint (light grey walls, white trim), so G-man can work on that this week. Next Saturday the new ceiling goes up!  Carpet is ordered (Here is a picture of the new's the top sample).  And if I can swing it, I want to cover some of Bossy's bed that is blue laminate with RED fabric. I am hoping we have enough left to get him a new dresser, but I am not hopeful on that.  And I have found some great decor items...but that isn't in the budget right now.

And yes, I know we are doing things a little out of really should go ceiling, walls, carpet.  But we are under a time crunch, so we have to do the best we can.

Thankful for today?  Reconnecting with G-man.  We had a "date" on our back deck on Friday night when I got home from bookfair.  A bottle of wine, some cheese and crackers.  It was lovely.

Have a great week everyone!!!

  1. I wish I had a green thumb like you do!! The only reason why I have so many flowers is because they were here when we moved! I don't even know what a HOSTA is... I assume one of the pants though. lol! Nice that you & gmas had a "date at home"! Cheap & effective! :)

  2. I love the color of the rug! Keep an eye out for older bureaus at flea markets or thrift shops they are so much sturdier. I usually get them then give them a good cleaning and waxing.
