2nd gear is gone. Minimum of $2000-$2500 to fix plus 4 days to rebuild. For a car with 187k on it that has given us nothing but problems....time to move on.
Feeling shellshocked....this screws up everything.
Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that. But you were already considering getting a replacement... and having the car die in a dangerous situation makes this a lot better of a choice. Don't be too down. You can move over this obstacle as well.
Oh honey, it screws up some things, sure, but not everything. This is one of those times where you need to batten down the hatches, put on your pyjamas, drink ginger beer and swear at the telly. Tomorrow is another day and as sure as the sun comes up, you'll make your way through this. X x x
oh that's a major bummer! Unfortunately, with that many miles it's probably time to die. Hopefully you can find a decent used car that doesn't hit your budget too hard.
Sorry. I think that that day is coming soon for us to...hubby's car is over 160,000 miles and we have had transmission issues in the past 4 months, with a possible 2500+ estimate to make it fixed. We are limping along with it....
Oh, sorry Mysti. That really is a bummer. There's just no real way around car costs. I tried doing the public transport thing to my work earlier this year (in a crappy public transport area) and it was just too hard, added hours to my day which all came out of parenting time. I hope you can figure something out.
I hate transmissions....they just suck the life out of you. I swear my parents had the same car from 1968 till 1982...I guess they were just built better back then.
I am so sorry. We have been through that many times, so I definitely feel your pain!
