A Year In Review

Niki over at Debt Free by Thirty (who will be consumer debt free in just a few days!!!), tagged me for this meme. My 2-year blogging anniversary was August 6, so I thought I would take the opportunity to look at the past year (just the past year, not year 1), and see where I stand:

My Most Beautiful Post

This was tough, as I rarely post pictures.  But this post was probably my most personal and raw.  Sometimes Emotional Spending Is Ok

My Most Popular Post

Hmm....depends on your definition of popular.  This post has had the most views, but I don't know if I would call it popular.  If you don't count that one....and the ones that are associated with it....and ones that are elsewhere in the list.....you get this one:  Would You Pay $1 for A Bottle of Water?

My Most Controversial Post

I have to admit this one surprised me.  I didn't realize I was going to hit such a hot button topic.  So That Is Why We Aren't Getting Anywhere

My Most Helpful Post

I am going to take the stance that "helpful" is in regards to helping you, my readers....not, where you helped me (which you do every day!!!!)  Although this wasn't a more popular post, I think it was informative.  Making the Most of Gift Cards.

Post Whose Success Surprised Me

I was happy that others got something from this post.  And a few people even blogged about it on THEIR blogs.  Just DO IT! There have been a few follow-ups to this.....and I love doing them.

Post That Didn't Get the Attention it Deserved

I have to admit, I was surprised that this one didn't get much attention....either on the positive or the negative.  Why I Glam It Up

The Post I'm Most Proud Of

This was tough to pick.  So in the end I picked two.  I picked when we paid off my student loan because it was a huge financial milestone.   But I also picked my review of our 2010 financial goals, because I totally admit how we could have done better; no sugar coating that one.

Thanks Niki for including me in the fun!!

  1. This was great Mysti, I hadn't read some of these posts before so it was nice to catch up. Oh my dear, I had no idea about your precious twin girls. That must have been the most torturous decision you have ever made. You are a strong woman indeed. Sending you extra {hugs} on this one.

  4. I'm a fairly new reader, so I'd read references to the twins, but omgosh - I am crying reading the full story. My heart goes out to you. xo

  5. Thank you for posting this!! I'm fairly new to your site as well. Your content is excellent. I commented on your twins post. When I saw the August 15th date, I just knew I'd share their birthday. :( I'm so sorry. I will be thinking about you and them for sure that day and be a little more grateful I am lucky to have received the most amazing gift of life.

  6. Thank you all for your kind words regarding my daughters. I can honestly say that was the worst day of my life.

@Mutantsupermodel - I am sorry you share a birthday with my bad day. :( Bossy and Sassy were 23 weekers, so we know all about NICU!
