Game Over

Not sure what happened....his job application was rejected less than 24 hours after submission.

We are going to call and find out what happened.  But I think it has to do with the fact that they have a computer pre-screen the applications and assign a score.  If the computer doesn't see a key word that it is programmed to look for, then it scores it down.

I have a feeling we used a synonym....and here we are.

G-man is WAY bummed.  He feels like he let me down.

Disappointed......we really could have used a win.

  1. I know you guys want to move, but maybe this will be for the best, for now.

When I was reading your post this morning I was starting to get stressed out thinking about all the things you needed to do or that needed to happen. Please don't take that the wrong way, I would have been happy for you since it is what you wanted. I know how much it sucks not being near family and you guys would have worked it out.

I know I keep saying this, but the odds have to be in your favor for something good to happen. Seriously, Universe, WTF?

  2. I am so sorry. I know my mom worked for the feds for ever and if things weren't just right then the promotion or job change wouldnt happen.

Hope this leads to something better

  3. To use the metaphor, no one gets a hit every time they are at bat! He has to keep trying until he gets a hit. It would not hurt to learn why it was rejected. It could be a mistake or he can learn for next time. I have had my share of rejection and I kept getting up and swinging. I ultimately succeeded!

  4. Again onward and upward. Things happen for a reason. But pursue it all the same. It is hard to get all excited with the possibilities and then get slammed.

  5. Is there a way he can resubmit, or is it a one strike and you're out type of thing?

  6. I hate to think like that, but maybe since there was so much that needed done to be able to move comfortably, maybe this is a 'win' ? think positive - things will work out in the long run... :)

  7. I don't like the computerised recruitment for just this reason, if you don't use certain keywords you just get cut out before you've had a chance.
