No real news yet. We found out that all the paperwork went to HR last Thursday, and per the Administration Officer in Charlotte. ...The HR specialist assigned to this is known to be SLOW in response times.
Tomorrow is the first day of school and the kids' birthday. ..so an already busy day may be even more chaotic if the call comes. If we find out...we will wait until Friday to tell the kids....I want tomorrow to be about them.
Meanwhile....Bossy got his orthodontic palate expander yesterday....we are trying to get stuff done in the house while getting ready for tomorrow. Add in drama with my parents and a few other things...and I am burnt. I just need to get myself organized...
I am proud though that even with an emotional month and a huge level of uncertainty...we did not over spend on STUFF. The kids got a few new things for school....shoes being the most expensive part....but they didn't get a lot. Bossy gained 13 pounds over the summer so alot of his jeans didn't fit...and Sassy grew in height so hers were too short. New lunch boxes (his fell apart...hers was wearing out) rounded things out. I didn't even need to buy many school supplies.

The waiting is the worst part. I take it your parents know about the possible move? Will you end up being their caretaker if you are close by? The closest sibling usually shoulders much of the responsibility.

Yes they know...but in the current state of our relationship....it doesn't matter if I am 8 miles or 800 miles away....
DeleteBut I would be the closest sibling, yes. However, Mom and Dad "can take care of ourselves" even though they aren't. Big time.
Any word back from any realtors on comps? Seems like whether you can sell your current house or not in this market for what you need out of it is the linchpin of this whole process.
ReplyDeleteThat is a WHOLE other post. But the short version is one realtor thinks we can sell it and clear the mortgage (and MAYBE have a little bit to walk away with). One doesn't and told us to short sale it.
DeleteWe are moving even if we can't sell the house. It just complicates things greatly if we can't sell.

ReplyDeleteYes waiting sucks but what if he doesn't get it?? disappointment could be worse. I want it to happen for you guys but also be prepared if it doesn't. This is happened to me before, I nailed the interview, thought I had the job and got that dreaded email that they picked someone else.
