Today is the day

G-man is putting in his resignation at the part time job.  He has worked there 11 years, and it is time for it to go.  His last day of "availability" is June 21, but there is a strong probability that June 19 will be his last work day.  He will get paid for that week on June 25, and then vacation will be paid out on July 2.

He has 2 OT shifts lined up for June, and has put in for a third.  The third shift would also be a double (his regular shift that day is 7am-3pm, so this is for 3pm-11pm).  He is the logical choice for the shift since he is already there.  But sign up is open through tomorrow, so we will find out Thursday or Friday.

ETA:  In case you missed it....here is the background on all of this.  The quick answer is that G-man will be working more hours at his office job to make up for the part time job.  It will be a difference of about 55 hrs LESS per month that he will be working, and we will still have about the same pay.

I applied for a new job.  My concern is that they will see my Master's Degree on my resume and toss it aside.  This job is a very detail oriented job, but also creative.  It is everything I have been looking for.  PLUS, there is room for growth.  I hope they at least give me an interview (I am a great interview candidate).  I tried to not be too disappointed that they didn't call yesterday, but that hope was not realistic at all and I know it.  I was just trying to be optimistic.

Maybe it was time to just mix it up around here.  I tend to resist BIG change, but find that when I embrace it....it really does turn out ok.  So, I am just going to TRY and go with the flow....work on putting a few more pieces of the puzzle in place, and keep on keepin' on.

    1. Fairly uneventful. He talked to the store manager, handed him his typed resignation, and the manager said he would let the department manager know. It took 2 minutes.
