Out, damn bug, OUT!

While February was the month of snow....March has been the month of illness.  G-man kicked it off, passing it on to Bossy, then relapsing himself.  I got sick this past Friday (and have been flat on my back since).  And Sassy is starting to cough now...

I called out of work on Friday when I woke up at 3:30am with a 101.5 fever, cough, stuffy nose, upset stomach, and other miscellaneous ailments.  While I haven't been formally tested...I think it is a strain of the flu.  I dragged myself into work, and when the boss called at 8:30am and heard me...he sent me home.  Yeah, I sound that good.

I brought some stuff home with me, so hopefully I can make up a few of the hours.  My paychecks have been terrible...between snow days and illness, I have only had 1 full paycheck since early January.  I get paid this week, and it is only at 80% (missed one day for my illness, and one for Bossy).

Our budget is screwed up because all the illness has meant buying a TON of medication.  With everyone sick, we are going through Dayquil and Nyquil like it is water.  Plus, we have bought more "easy" foods since from day to day we don't know who will be eating, or if someone will even have the energy to make anything.

It is a cold week...and there is snow in the forecast.  *sigh*   I need to get well, and have a nice, warm spring day to air out the house and disinfect everything under the sun!  I want to replace all the toothbrushes....do you wait until you are better, or replace now?  Or both?  Anyone know?

So I haven't forgotten you all....just been out for the count.

  1. Sorry, hope everyone feels better soon - if you have a FSA hopefully those meds aren't costing you too much.

    1. I don't think FSA covers OTC anymore. Even if it did...The receipts are long gone.

  2. Our family is just getting over the crud as I call it.... I have been to the doctor's twice and on two different antibiotics because mine turned into bronchitis.... But the sinuses are a pain in the you know what....Dayquil is making millions on this crud.... I have had it for over a month.... Bronchitis gone but coughing from sinuses that the antibiotics did not touch... As for the tooth brushes I changed out when the bronchitis was gone... Will change out again in a week.... When I went off Dayquil two days ago I am doing so much better.... I am taking my vitamins now and feel like I am human again.... it takes a LONG time to get over the cough.... Lisa

    1. Omg...This sounds like us. G-Man went to the dr on Friday because we thought he developed bronchitis. Dr said no but gave him antibiotics for the sinus infection.

This is a tough bug. And yes...it seems that it will take forever to get over.

  3. Sitting in my doctors office reading this. My son is really sick.

Hope you are all well soon. I would replace toothbrushes when you are all well again.

  4. I wish I was there to help you. I would bring you my famous home made chicken soup with homemade noodles, it really works.
