Ballin'

Bossy will be going back to school....let's see how this works today.  Fingers crossed.

****
We were able to feel like big time Ballers for about 10 seconds this week.  On Wednesday, I got paid (my first FULL check since January), G-man got paid from his second job (which included an extra shift), we had our surprise windfall, and then on Thursday, our federal tax return arrived.

The windfall, tax return, and half of the second job check immediately went into holding (more about all of this next week).  But for those few seconds, we had this big, fat checking account.  I look forward to the day where I am not transferring everything to another account.....

The windfall.....

We don't know if this is a one time deal, or will be an annual deal.....but G-man received a payout for NOT taking the health insurance at his second job (our insurance is through his full time job).  Honestly, I didn't know he was even eligible for insurance there....we never cared since we were already covered.

The payout was $750, which ended up at $626 after taxes.

In next week's post, I will talk about the plan for all of this money.  But for the moment, it was fun to just see it all there.

  1. I call it 'found money' pretend you never got it and put it in savings :)

  2. That is awesome! I didn't even know you could get paid for NOT taking insurance. I would sit there and enjoy it as well. Don't wait too long though - it will seemingly disappear!

    1. This is the first time this has happened, so who knows. I hear ya on the disappearing act of money....that is why it got transferred out of our main account into a "holding" account. It won't get spent that way until we purposefully spend it.

  3. I would go buy a new outfit at least, but I am a selfish thing:)

    1. I didn't say that we didn't take some MAD money.....I didn't say we did. :)

  4. Is a family policy possible from the second job? If so, is there any chance that you could accept this insurance in future years to have 'double coverage' for your family?
