A Friday Post

Happy Friday!  Happy End of February!

I have a couple of posts that are "meatier" for next week....so I thought I would round out February with some "veggie" material....

Bossy unofficially earned his Tenderfoot rank in Scouts.  He still needs his Board of Review, but since there are several boys who need this....the ScoutMaster needs to schedule all of them.  In the meantime, he has all the requirements done, and has started working on his Second Class (and has 4 things signed off already!)  Super proud of him!

Sassy was selected for a science enrichment program.  It is roughly every other week fieldtrips (on Friday evenings and Saturdays) where they will be looking at the scientific history of the state.  They will be visiting parks, museums, and other centers.  The program is for grades 6-8, and is interdistrict, so she will have the opportunity to meet alot of people.  Super proud of her!!!

My BF is trying to get me to come visit this summer.  It is my turn to fly out there.  G-man and I said "no trips" like this for 2014.  I am bumming because I miss her!  Since she is a travel agent, she is keeping her eye on flights....just in case a super deal comes up.  But even with a super deal....missing work.....spending money.....it adds up.  Bummer.

And I will leave you with a "get to know ya" question.....leave your answer in the comments!!!

Are you planting a garden (of any type) this spring????

I always plant flowers in the front of the house.....I am toying with a raised bed veggie garden this year.

  1. Great gob Sassy and Bossy!

I'm definitely planting a garden. Gardening is my favorite hobby and I'm so excited for it. I have ordered a few seeds already but I don't start my own plants indoors so I will be making a rather large trip to a local nursery. HAPPY Friday!

    1. We have tried to start from seeds, and it never works. But why are little veggie plants at the nursery so expensive???? *sigh*

  2. I'm probably just planting some annuals in my planters this year and tending to the perennials I already have. Its been so bitter cold for Alabama this year, I'm afraid I've lost quite a few. Sigh.

    1. I was told by the nursery that perennials need the cold to go dormant, so they will gather energy to re-bloom. That said, I have lost so many perennials...I am not sure they are worth the money.

    2. I have several perennials that I'm kind of on the border in terms of gardening zones. Most winters they do fine, but I think the super cold really messed some of them up. However, I am thankful that several of my pass along plants seem to have made it through.... since several of those came from people who aren't with us anymore, I'd have been just sick had they not come back.
