Surgery Went Well

I had my surgery yesterday, and all is well.  I had to be at the hospital at 5:45am, for a 7:45am operating time.  Trust me...when the alarm went off at 4:45am, I was NOT a happy camper.  G-man and the kids drove me to the hospital, and then went home to continue their morning.  The kids didn't know about the surgery....just that I had a doctor's appointment. 

My 2 hours of pre-op time went quickly, between all the people coming and going.  I was wheeled into the OR at 7:44am, and my doctor called G-man around 9am to say it was all over and I was in recovery.  Easy peasy.

They were able to remove the mass without removing the entire ovary (although I would have been fine if they took the ovary....).  They went in laproscopically, and used the same incision spots as my previous surgeries, so no new scars.

I was home by noon, and spent the rest of the day in bed.  I drifted in and out of sleep (thank you pain medication!).  The big question was....would I be able to pee!!!  I have this problem after surgery, and have ended up in the emergency room twice.  I was nearing the time to call the doctor if I hadn't gone yet....when SUCCESS!   That was a huge anxiety lifter for me.  I really didn't want to go to the ER.

I attempted to have a few text conversations with my peeps....but it was obvious that my pain meds were winning when I was texting the conversation meant for another person.  So I gave up on that idea.

I was out for the night around 9pm.

Today I am out of bed and moving around.  Took a shower.  I have a meeting at 10am (at my house), so I am all set for that, and will return to work tomorrow.  Of course, I made the mistake of checking my work e-mail......UGH.  I worked about double my normal hours on Monday and Tuesday to compensate for missing yesterday and today.  And no doubt that tomorrow will be a long day as well.
