The snow has finally stopped, and now that the sun is out, we have that horrible bright glare shining off of the pristine white surface. In total, we got about 2 FEET of snow.
The kids have off from school again today. Sassy is taking the opportunity to sleep in (Oh, I can see what is coming down the pike as a teenager!). Bossy is just chillin'. No plans for today. Probably more goofing around.
G-man eventually made it out yesterday, and went to the grocery store. I was able to make 6 small lasagnas for the freezer. I was happy.
But here is the newest "downside" to all of this. I am not working. I don't get paid if I don't work. I am missing 2 days of pay this week, and then the office is closed for MLK day on Monday (oh, and the kids are home too...when do these kids ever go to school??). Two of the days effect my paycheck next week. I am hoping to work some extra in the next two weeks to make up for it.
Add in the Bookfair and the week off the kids have in February, I will be mucking with my schedule big time, and the bottom line is if I don't work, I don't get paid.
My big plan to use the overtime on G-man's next check may not go to debt; it may go to my shortfall. Bummer.
ooo bummer. it must be hard when it's like you can't really afford to just take days off work and not get paid--and you don't even have a choice! hopefully everything will work out okay...
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a bummer not to get paid vacation or time off? I missed a day last week because I wasn't feeling well. It's going to really show in the paycheck! Ugh.
