Welcome to another edition of GBU. Let's see how we did this week!
The Good: So, this may end up in another category, but let's leave it here for now. G-man won a radio contest, and won $106! Being the martyr that I am, I told him that was "his" money to do what he wanted. I am hoping that he decides to use it towards Christmas or debt, but he will do what he wants. In the very least, if he uses for himself, he has no reason to complain that he never gets anything.
Additionally, I decided to use my recent bonus toward debt. Take that Student Loan #2! You are on course to be paid off by the end of the year.
The Bad: What is the deal with gas prices??? Here they have spiked about $0.25 per gallon in the past week. We are definitely going over budget on gas due to the increased price.
Also, I broke our Swiffer Wet Jet mop. (I think I was leaning on it too hard.....STRESS!!!) I have had it for several years, so it lived a good life. Mom gave me several bottles of cleaner and pads when she stopped using hers. So I feel like I should replace the mop. BUT....I kind of want a Shark Steam Mop now!!
Additionally, Black Friday is just a few days away. My holiday shopping is fine, so there really isn't a good reason to go shopping. But there are a few things that are pure wants, and it is putting bad thoughts in my head.
The Ugly: With Mom and Dad coming in just a few days, it is stressing me out. And the decor in my house is stressing me out. I have no idea why I do this to myself. It isn't like I grew up in a house that rivals Architectural Digest. But now I look at everything and how it isn't the way I want it. And it is sooooo tempting to go out and buy a "few" things to spruce it up. The items of the moment include a new rug for the "dining room" (that isn't a dining room 364 days a year, but will be for Thanksgiving), and my beloved bookcase that I have been whining about for 6 months.
So, let's hear your GBU for the week!
Good:
ReplyDeleteFind out I am getting a refund from my physical therapy which should come in the next 2 weeks of $300!
Got a $10 gift card to Kohls in the mail - the one near me was under construction so I think they send them out in my area to entice people to shop. It was $10 off a $10 purchase so I got 1 Christmas gift for free!
I got a $10 rebate check in the mail from Ebates this week.
I caught a great deal on a flight home for the holidays for $215! Last year I spent close to $400!
Bad: a few unplanned grocery purchases - on stuff I would rarely use and 3 trips to Starbucks!
Ugly: $25 in library fines - unacceptable!
@CJ - you had a great week....even your bad and ugly weren't too bad. But $25 in fines.....*shaking my finger* You know you can renew them on-line, right???
