I am so used to checking all of my accounts constantly. Usually to make sure that I paid everything and that it has been credited properly. Alot of it has been number crunching. If I pay X, then I will owe Y, and if the powers of Z have anything to do with it......you get the point.
Since really taking a hard look at the numbers, I am finding that I don't HAVE to keep looking at them. I know where the money is going, so looking at it over and over doesn't change anything. In a way, I lost a hobby.
While I have some peace from all of this....I am frustrated that the numbers aren't constantly going down! I WANT to keep paying, and gosh darnit...I have to wait for payday. I love updating my tracker on the left side. But I have to wait.
Pay week is next week, so tonight I will sit down and figure out what will get paid and schedule it all. Then this weekend I will write out the bills that I can't pay on-line (remember those little pieces of paper called checks?). Then I wait again.
Once you get into the swing of paying down debt, you can't wait to do it again! It is a little bit of a charge to watch the numbers drop. And when they hit zero....pay dirt! I have not had the experience yet of paying off anything big. Little small medical bills....but nothing big. I can't wait!!!
I know what you mean I check the numbers constantly even though I know they didn't change, and I can't wait until payday so I can pay the bills and watch the numbers go down slowly again!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I love checking the numbers and I can't wait until payday so I can figure out how much more I can throw at debt. Even though my fiance and I have a LONG road ahead of us (medical school loans mostly), it's still so much fun to be starting the process, however small our steps seem to be.
