Goodbye, my kitty

I had a post up this morning regarding my Grey Kitty, who was very ill.  The vet called me this morning to inform me that my bebe......passed away over night.  We had a procedure done yesterday which was our last chance at saving him.  I guess it was just too much for him.  And he died, alone.  Which is killing me.

We got him almost 16 years ago, as a young adult cat.  He was so fluffy and full of energy.  The first night we had him, he hid under the guest bed.  I tried to coax him out, but he wouldn't budge.  G-man convinced me to just leave him alone and he would come out when he was ready.  At bedtime, after the lights were out, he scampered down the hall, jumped on the bed....and that was his nighttime spot until his last night at home.  Even after we moved, he would wait on the landing of the stairs to go to bed with us.

He "chirped" at the birds, and he "flew" off the couch to get 'em (through the glass of course).  He was so vocal....so very vocal.  He meowed at everything.

He was a cuddle boy in every sense of the word.  He loved to be held and stroked.  He was a lap cat....especially if you were under a fleece blanket.

He was a protector.....of the toys.

And put up with his silly mommy....

He was so sweet....even though he was a naughty boy at times.....

He loved to share my ice cream (just a few licks!) and always had to be touching me in some way. He would follow me around the house. I couldn't go to the bathroom or take a shower without his "help."

But mostly, he was just my best bebe friend. He was so sweet and loving. And I will miss him terribly.  He was our first pet...our bebe.  He came to us a name, and he seemed to respond to it, so we never changed it.  We called him lots of nicknames....mostly BooBoo.  But most of all.....we called him our family.

Goodbye my sweet BooBoo bebe.  Mommy, Daddy, and the kids....we will always love you so so much.  Please look out for us, and know not a day will go by that we won't miss you.  Please be well, and may your life energy continue to warm our soul.  We love you.

  1. Oh I am so sorry Misty! I am sitting here literally crying with you over this post... Try to take comfort in the fact that you did EVERYTHING you could do and I'm sure gave him the best life imaginable.

  3. I am sorry for the loss of your kitty. We had a cat that loved to be cuddled also. I don't know why, but for some reason I always thought you were a tall blond.. Cheryl

  6. What a sweet kitty. Do not feel too bad it is likely he would have stayed alive and suffered longer if he had been home with you. Animals and humans often leave in spirit when alone, they have a hard time leaving when a loved one is present. You did everything you could for him and he will be with you I truly believe in the next life. Hugs to you.

    1. I knew yesterday we were close. I told him if he needed to go, it was ok. I am second guessing our decision to try one last thing......we could have been with him in the end and the kids could have said goodbye. But at least they saw him on Saturday when he had one last rally.
