Greetings, y'all

We arrived around 11:30 pm on Tuesday.  The last few hours of the ride were tough.  It had rained almost the entire way, but by 6pm it was raining so hard, and was dark, and foggy.  And lots of 18 wheelers.  It was exhausting.

Yesterday G-man and I went to our new home.  It is going to take some getting used to.  Some of the decor is just hideous....I mean I saw pictures, but in person....*shudder*.  The bedrooms are tiny.  Really tiny.  The neighborhood is ok....very crowded together.  It is just going to take some time.

We are taking the kids to school today for a tour.  We stopped by yesterday to drop something off, so we met the guidance counselor.   Today we will go over all the logistics  (bus number, setting up lunch accounts, schedule).  Afterwards we will get lunch and take the kids to the townhouse.  I want to do some cleaning this afternoon before our stuff arrives tomorrow.

I am ready to just be settled.  I know it will take some time.  At least we are here and getting closer to being done.

  1. Glad you made it safely. My husband was in the Army for 21 years and there were times where we lived were hideous---above a barn near Stuttgart, Germany. But we always managed because we were glad to be together. You'll be ok too now that you're all together again.

  2. What's wrong with the decor...pastels, perhaps? Having moved from NE to the south, I can say, yes, quite a few things require "getting used to." Just accept it for what it has to offer, and not what you would expect in the northeast. I had to do this myself...then remind myself again when we moved to the PNW.Pictures of the place, if you like. I love a good move in!

    1. I wish it were pastel! Black and gray marble floor, black and gray metallic sheen wallpaper. One bathroom has red marble vanity with bright green glass tile.

And the corbels on the mantle are huge!

      It isn't our taste.

    2. That sounds... kind of pukey, I have to say. My condolences.

  3. Glad you made it safely! Metallic wallpaper? Oh my! I thought all rental units were pretty much beige or eggshell!

  5. Glad you made it safely! I agree with Kim, just keep saying "we are together" and you can get past the decor.
