Another day home

The kids have another snow day today.  Most of the main roads have been cleared, but many neighborhoods are still buried.  We have a wide car width path down our street, but everyone still had to dig out from their driveway to the path.  That took G-man about 2.5 hrs, and that was with help from the neighbor who has a snowblower.

My office is closed until noon, but I have a doctor's appointment at 1:45, so it made the most sense for me to be "off" today.  I have tons of "work from home" stuff to do, so I really won't be losing any pay.

So today's plan (as soon as I get my tushie moving) is throw in some laundry, do a few hours of work.  Go to the doctor (yes, the kids are coming with me).  Hit the pet store to replace Sassy's deceased fish (RIP Sunset).  More work, make dinner.  Good times.

My "incentive" for later is cleaning up my desk area.  I really do like that stuff.  It is quite messy, and needs to be tended to.  There are several things that I have discovered as problems over time, and need to "fix":
  • We have a shelf connected to the desk, and the printer is on it.  Well, it vibrates when the printer is in use and shakes everything.  The other stuff on the shelf tends to fall when the printer is in use.  No good.
  • Non-functional baskets.  Can't find anything in there.
  • Old file folder organization system that only holds take out menus.  Do I really need this out right now??
  • PAPER.  Need to do some filing.
So that is my mini project for later.  Along with a good dusting and cleaning, and my desk will be in much better shape.

Wsup with you???

  1. I wish I saw that as incentives! I have my room in disarray (still looking for that cursed camera battery...), and have not felt like cleaning. Maybe tonight... I have found I have a greater need to buy some sort of filing binder instead of keeping papers in bags.

  2. Lots of errands for me on the to-do list. Glad you are able to get out and about. I agree, sometimes a day of lost work is MORE than worth the things we can get done at home

  3. Had a fabulous weekend --- but Monday just isn't quite so fab. Is it too early to start wishing for the weekend?

  4. Isn't it funny when you set up an office and then realize all your cute ideas are just not workable? Yeah I revamp every year.
