Found out yesterday that my dad totaled the car in JUNE....when they were at my Aunt's funeral (when they didn't come to visit us). Dad broke his arm, wrist, and hand....and neglected to mention any of this. There is more to it, but I was getting so angry at how much they were keeping from me (and bro) that I told them I had to get off the phone before I blew a gasket.
My brother and I spoke, and we are going to HAVE to sit down with 'rents and assess the situation. They can't take care of themselves on their own, and we aren't there to make sure they are ok.
Someone send me the strength to not lose it.....

ReplyDeleteThough it truly sucks to see an extra paycheck get sucked in, almost as if the expenses were sitting, waiting for the extra check to show up, it's great that it has helped you even things out. Ouch @ the situation with your parents... I would be pretty upset too. My parents have done that with me once (I go to their house one Saturday for work, and they told me my dad had been in the hospital for 2 days earlier that week!). Get a plan together for them when you get there... at least a starting point should make the discussions a bit easier.
