GBU - September 9, 2012

Why is it so hard to find a graphic?????  1,000,000 points to someone who finds me a cool graphic!

The Good:
  • G-man's car part was still under warranty.
  • Briefly spoke to Bossy's teacher at the PTA event and she is very happy with his adjustment to 5th grade.
  • Decided to grow my hair long again (it hasn't been long since before the kids were born, and I miss it).
  • Decided to research converting from oil to gas boiler system (just in case our boiler dies....and we would prefer gas....so might as well gather information)

The Bad:
  • G-man's car broke down (would have been ugly if it cost us anything!!!).
  • Hot water boiler acting wanky (yes, it is the technical term).
  • Work is crazy busy...no time to catch my breath......PLUS, the air conditioner keeps breaking down, and it is humid and gross in the office.

The Ugly:
  • Closet system collapsed (and it will be at least this coming Friday before it is fixed....clothes everywhere!!).
  • Got the EOBs for my surgery.....roughly $800.
  • Really wanting to finish my office.....and repaint the living room.....PANDORA's BOX!!!
  • Keep playing with the budget, and right now.....there isn't alot I can do.  Too many fixed items that eat up way too much of the budget (I figured out that gas for the car, and the oil bill equal 20% of our take home pay!!!!)

You know the deal....what are your GBUs this week???

  1. Have you seen the graphic I use when I pay along? It's pretty cool but you may have to search for it on my blog...

I feel your pain about fixed bills... Housing costs along are 50% of our income *before* any bills... such is life, do what you gotta do right?! :)

  2. Too funny, I have decided to grow my hair long too. When my first was born, I had hair down to my waist. I miss it and my kids do too

  3. I have been trying to grow my hair long ever since my mom cut it when I was 5 because I would throw a tantrum if she tried to cut it. I finally figured out the secret. Stop cutting it. Like, ever. I go to my hair gal about once a year for a good trim and that's it and it's about mid-way down my back, all one length in good condition.

You can't buy into the get a trim every 6-8 weeks. All they do is take off any length you've managed to acquire and then you get frustrated. You will have days that are bad, bad hair days in the process and those are ponytail or hat days.

Good luck. This is the first time in my life I have been happy with my hair and just got it highlighted to get get rid of the gray because I'm (gasp!) 48 years old! That's a long time to want waist length hair and not achiever the goal.

Just remember - scissors ONCE A YEAR. And no more than an inch off the bottom. It's only taken me a little over two years to get to this point.

  4. That would be a tantrum if she tried to brush it. It's 4:30 am so give me a break. LOL

  5. Personally in avoidance mode on budget as I have to admit how bad the summer was to us financially.
