The tax donation verdict

I took everything you guys said....talked to G-man, and decided on a compromise.

I went into It's Deductible and listed out just the stuff that I have in my car waiting to be dropped off.  According to the program.....it was just over $600 worth of items, with a savings of $100 dollars.  Assuming that the first batch of stuff will be roughly the same (same number of bags....)...we probably will get $200 back in taxes just on what we have done so far.

I learned that I was being WAY too detailed.  By cutting back on the detail, it will save time.  Also, I have a better idea what things are worth.

So here is the compromise.....I will continue to make the list for donations, but if at the end of this week, I still have stuff left....it will go into a bag, unsorted....and I will just place a rough value on the bag.  By Friday, the stuff will be gone.

Thanks for your help!

  2. Getting rid of stuff is so liberating! Even when you don't see a dollar sign.
